Can you forward these questions to the group? My Wix kicked me off the website.
1) Does the property securing a property bond need to be in the judicial circuit or the county to be accepted?
2) On felony probation, does someone:
2a) Have to live in Georgia for the duration of the probation period?
2b) Have to report in person?
I have a client choosing between a $50k bond or a multi-year probation offer that we got today and I'm trying to advise him re: the practical consequences of both. He has family that's local but he's from Texas and would want to go back to Texas to work to pay off fines.
@Sam Meller see the response above - it's from me! Any questions, give me a call. Also you are still listed as a member of the app so we can trouble shoot that issue if you want to.
1) no. They can do a transfer bond. 2) no, but must be accepted as an interstate compact transfer. Need to start process immediately upon being placed on probation. Cannot move until given permission of probation 3) probation comes to them. First report is done in person, after that probation makes house calls
